Michael Kimmelman

Michael Kimmelman is the architecture critic for The New York Times. He is also the founder and editor at large of Headway, a new philanthropically supported initiative of The New York Times addressing global challenges and paths toward progress. A longtime contributor to The New York Review of Books, Kimmelman has reported from more than 40 countries, writing on design and the built world, politics and culture, climate change, social and environmental justice, urban planning, and community development. As a public speaker, he has lectured at institutions around the globe. Previously, Kimmelman taught at Harvard and was the Franke Visiting Fellow at Yale’s Whitney Humanities Center.
