BlackSpace Urbanist Collective
BlackSpace is an interdisciplinary collective of Black residents, urban planners, architects, and designers founded in 2015. By bridging the gaps between policy, people, and place, the organization aims to support the understanding, access, and cooperation needed to address inequality and injustice in the built environment. The collective works to move away from perfunctory forms of public engagement and instead towards a planning system that recognizes, affirms, and amplifies the agency of long-marginalized communities.
