Valentin Abend

Valentin Abend is an architect and the co-founder of Climate Words and Paraply. His work focuses on integrating climate knowledge into design practices, climate literacy, and inclusive organising systems.
Valentin taught Sustainable Systems at Parsons School of Design in New York for three years, and has given talks, training, and reviews at universities and organizations in the US and Europe. He has worked for Herzog & de Meuron in Basel and SO–IL in Brooklyn, and currently works at Karamuk Kuo in Zurich. Valentin studied architecture at the Kent School of Architecture (BA) and the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio (MSc). He has held the role of project director at various climate organizations since 2019, working at the intersection of climate action, spatial practice, and collective learning.
