APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

GROW YOUR VISION

Get paired with a mentor whose experience, expertise, and network can help advance your initiatives through one-on-one sessions. Alongside these individual meetings, the full cohort will participate in the Young Climate Prize Design Academy: a series of masterclasses designed to help you develop your personal and professional skills, as well as strengthen, scale, and deepen the impact of your project. The World Around's global network of leading architects, artists, curators, scientists, and storytellers -including Paola Antonelli, Bruce Mau, Al Borde, and many more- offer their time to mentor, teach, and uplift the next generation of climate leaders.

GROW YOUR COMMUNITY

Join a global ecosystem of climate leaders and form long-lasting relationships with other cohort members and industry leaders. Cohort members become a part of a like-minded network of upcoming designers who genuinely care, and are doing something different and special. Past cohort members have leveraged the tools gained through the Young Climate Prize to successfully compete for and win some of the most significant climate awards globally, including prizes supported by the UN, 776 and Swarovski Foundations.

GROW YOUR NETWORK

Get access to unique opportunities to connect with professionals, artists and leaders who are shaping the future of our planet. From the possibility to attend in-person events, to bespoke introductions and amplification, the Young Climate Prize also serves as a distribution engine. Through high profile media partnerships, documentary series, and original interview formats, we translate your frontline work into accessible narratives that educate wider audiences, elevate emerging leaders, and accelerate adoption by making solutions visible, credible, and repeatable.

Through my participation in The World Around Young Climate Prize, I realized that when we want to talk about nature, borders do not exist. We need spaces to share our struggles, build partnerships, show vulnerability and lean into the hope that there are more people interested in supporting the work that we are doing.

DESIGN ACADEMY

A fundamental component of the Young Climate Prize mentorship program is the Design Academy, which invites the entire cohort of under 25s to enroll in a three-month intensive program of participatory group lectures, workshops, and discussions hosted by The World Around's global network of leading architects, artists, curators, scientists, and storytellers. Supplementing the cohort’s individual mentoring sessions, this bespoke world-class educational program was designed to cover a broad range of topics that would help all of these young thinkers and makers to further expand their knowledge, learn valuable skills related to their climate-focused work, and pick the brains of some of the brightest minds in art, architecture, film, design, fundraising, marketing, public speaking and more. In addition, the cohort could spend time together and share ideas and reflections during occasional ‘potluck’ meetings.

The Design Academy opened my eyes to see the world beyond my own home. I am so honored to be part of this community.
