Eva Pfannes

Eva Pfannes thrives working in complex and fast developing environments with public sector and cultural clients, focused on the benefits for society and the natural environment. She co-founded OOZE with Sylvain Hartenberg in Rotterdam.
OOZE specializes in urban strategies, blue-green infrastructure, and bankable concepts that address climate change through nature- and culture-based solutions. As team lead for City of 1000 Tanks in Chennai (Water as Leverage), Eva is developing a citywide water balance model. Água Carioca, an urban circulatory system in Brazil, won the Holcim Prize. As IABR co-curator, she led a neighborhood energy transition promoting community ownership and multi-scalar impact.
“OOZE is championing a culture of innovation, inclusion and integration: radical system thinkers and doers, passionate collaborators leaving no one behind, and catalysts’ designers that foster innovative interventions for real change, from the smallest community to the world.”
“I love that The World Around builds bridges between the design community and the wider public—offering hope and genuine ways to connect, rather than divide. To shape resilient, beautiful cities, we must rewire urban dynamics and bring nature into the city as a co-owned, shared resource for everyone. This requires innovation rooted in inclusion and diversity, and The World Around offers a multitude of pathways to rethink our world anew.”
