Sumaya Saidi is a 21-year-old Afghan technologist building a digital platform that helps young people organize local climate work and makes educational material available in Dari and Pashto.

Hamra Green is a mobile application and digital platform for coordinating community environmental work across Afghanistan. Young people, local groups and organizations can use it to find learning materials, organize activities, document volunteer projects and connect with potential collaborators. Climate resources are translated into Dari and Pashto, making the platform useful beyond English-speaking professional networks. Its design gives particular attention to women, rural youth and communities with limited access to established climate institutions, while creating a shared record of locally led work that might otherwise remain scattered or invisible.

Saidi founded Hamra Green and co-developed it with a volunteer youth team. She leads the platform’s direction, partnerships, implementation and community engagement across Afghanistan.
