Broken Nature

Paola Antonelli is one of the most influential curators in the design world, recognized for her expansive and investigative approach that bridges design, architecture, art, science, and technology. She is Senior Curator of Architecture & Design at The Museum of Modern Art in New York and the founding Director of Research & Development at MoMA, a position she created to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue on the museum’s future role in society. Antonelli has organized some of MoMA’s most groundbreaking exhibitions and has been a leading voice in positioning design as a catalyst for understanding contemporary life. At The World Around’s inaugural symposium in New York (January 25, 2020), she presents her acclaimed 2019 exhibition Broken Nature, first shown at the XXII Triennale di Milano, which explores the restorative role of design in the age of environmental crisis.
