Frank Gehry and Los Angeles

Frank Gehry.

Stephanie Barron is senior curator and head of modern art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. In more than four decades at LACMA, Barron has been responsible for seminal exhibitions including The Avant-Garde in Russia: 1910–1930, German Expressionist Sculpture, Degenerate Art: The Fate of the Avant-Garde in Nazi Germany, and Exiles and Émigrés: The Flight of European Artists from Hitler, and exhibitions dedicated to the work of Frank Price, Alexander Calder, and Frank Gehry—all of which were designed together with the Gehry himself. A frequent collaborator and close friend of the late Canadian-born American architect, Barron will offer a tribute to Gehry’s life and legacy, speaking to the profound influence of his work in Los Angeles, the city he called home.
