Venille Pads

Esther Oluwabunmi Olalude is the CEO of Venille, a company addressing both period poverty and sustainable product development in Nigeria. She has developed an affordable, biodegradable alternative to conventional sanitary pads, using an absorbent core made from a wool-like fiber derived from processed banana stems. As part of the Young Climate Prize, Esther was mentored by Etta Madete, a Kenyan architect and founder of BuildX Studio and BuildHer Collective. Through these initiatives, Madete champions the sustainable use of cross-laminated timber while also creating pathways for women to enter the fields of construction, design, and land ownership advocacy.
