Chris Cornelius is a citizen of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, chair of architecture at the University of New Mexico, and founding principal of studio:indigenous. Cornelius’ awards include the Miller Prize from Exhibit Columbus, multiple Best of Design and Best of Practice Awards from the Architect’s Newspaper. He has exhibited at the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale and the 2023 Chicago Architecture Biennial, and his work is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Chris has been a visiting professor at Yale and Columbia and is the Spring 2025 Eero Saarinen Visiting Professor of Architectural Design at Yale University.

As designers we have a responsibility to make decisions that reduce our impact on climate change. Awareness is only a start. Speaking publicly is an opportunity to share attainable principles and tangible tools.
