Katie Swenson is a design leader, writer, and educator whose work advances justice, resilience, and belonging through the built environment. A senior principal at MASS Design Group, she leads advocacy and global partnerships, shaping narrative, public memory, and community-centered design across global projects. With over two decades in public interest design, she is a sought-after speaker and mentor to emerging leaders—including Young Climate Prize awardee Blossom Eromosele.

Before joining MASS, Swenson served as vice president of design & sustainability at Enterprise Community Partners, where she expanded the Rose Fellowship and co-founded the Affordable Housing Design Leadership Institute. She is the author of Design with Love (Schiffer Publishing, 2020), In Bohemia (Schiffer Publishing, 2020), and Growing Urban Habitats (William Stout, 2010), and teaches at Parsons School of Design and Columbia GSAPP. A 2019 Harvard Loeb Fellow, she brings a lifelong commitment to cultivating the next generation of socially engaged designers.
