Lucia Pietroiusti is a curator working at the intersection of art, ecology, and systems, usually outside the gallery context. As head of Research and Emergence at the Hartwig Art Foundation, she is working to develop the Hartwig Museum, a new contemporary art museum in Amsterdam set to open in 2028. Until August 2025, Lucia was head of Ecologies at the Serpentine Galleries, London, where she founded the General Ecology project (2018–2025), an initiative to advance ecological principles in the galleries’ public facing programs and internal practices, embedding a commitment to environmentalism throughout the organization.
