Inside Outside

Since founding her acclaimed studio Inside Outside in 1991, Dutch designer Petra Blaisse has worked on international projects of increasing technical ambition and scale alongside an international, multidisciplinary team. Don’t miss her presentation as part of In Focus: Landscapes.
Aspiring for its projects to engage in continual dialogue with their contexts, the studio’s spaces are designed to stimulate and adapt, each a product of deep research: sound and light, climate, and the effects of time are its tools.
Inside Outside's renowned landscape projects include the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Gardens, the Biblioteca degli Alberi in Milan, and the Qatar Foundation Headquarters and National Library public gardens in Doha. The tem’s ongoing work spans from the regeneration of an urban park in Paris for Demi Lune, La Defense, to an ecological strategy for the Vallée de L'Oued Issy in Morocco.
At In Focus: Landscapes, we premiered our conversation showcasing Inside Outside’s evolving approach to landscape architecture, hearing from Petra and partners Jana Crepon and Aura Luz Melis about how the practice is adapting its methods to the growing challenges of climate breakdown while foregrounding human and more-than human experience, designing spaces for various scales of space and time.
