Proxy Address

Chris Hildrey is an award-winning architect and designer based in London. Named a Big Issue Changemaker, RIBA Rising Star, Hildrey believes that good design should be socially, economically, and ecologically sustainable. He created ProxyAddress, named by Time Magazine as one of the best inventions of 2021, to tackle systemic issues faced by those experiencing homelessness.
ProxyAddress allows those faced with homelessness to avoid being severed from support the moment they lose an address, which can cut them off from being able to register for a bank account or apply for a job, worsening their situation. ProxyAddress is a form of early intervention, connecting people in need with a proxy home that can be used to provide a stable address for official correspondence.
