About Late Shift x Young Climate Prize

On April 21, 2023, The World Around and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum co-hosted Late Shift × The Young Climate Prize, an evening celebrating the inaugural cohort of visionary under-25 climate leaders. Against the backdrop of the museum’s iconic rotunda, visitors explored short films by the prize finalists, joined hands-on sustainable art-making activities, and connected directly with young innovators tackling the climate crisis across disciplines and geographies. The program’s centerpiece was a live conversation between Cyra Levenson, Deputy Director of Education and Public Engagement at the Guggenheim; Henk Ovink, Special Envoy for International Water Affairs for the Kingdom of the Netherlands; Namra Khalid, architect and climate activist; and the Young Climate Prize winners themselves, offering insight into their transformative projects. Late Shift invited the public to experience climate action as both urgent and imaginative—showcasing a new generation of designers, thinkers, and activists shaping a sustainable future.
