Design Without Depletion

Joseph Grima is an architect, curator, and writer whose work consistently pushes the boundaries of how architecture engages with society, culture, and the environment. Based in Milan, he is the co-founder of Space Caviar, a design and research office exploring the future of living, and serves as Creative Director of the Design Academy Eindhoven. His career spans curatorial leadership roles, experimental publications, and international exhibitions, all unified by an interest in how architecture can act as a tool for transformation rather than merely form-making.
In his In Focus: Radical Repair presentation, Grima introduces a new collaborative platform developed with Practice Lab and the Re:Arc Foundation, designed to connect practitioners across disciplines and foster exchange of knowledge. He also outlines his research into Non-Extractive Architecture, a framework that examines the environmental and cultural costs of building while proposing a more circular and adaptive role for architects today.
